Default Help me with tire selection please

I'm currently runnning the stock 18" BFG KDW on stock fanblades. Will need to replace them soon (keeping the fanblades). Any recommendations on a tire that isn't TOO much more costly than the BFG's? Main issue I have with the BFG'sis noise, but if something else also gives other benefits (traction, looks), then great. I guessI don't want to go much more than $125 per tire. Suggestions?

If you don't want to go more than 125, then Sumitomo will be your best option.

I have read many reviews about the HTZII, and its actually one of the better tires for a fraction of the price. Its not as good as the top brand, but for what you get for so little, its definitely one of the greatest.

It depends. Do you need all season tires or purely summer tires?

I live in a climate that is perfect for all season. I prefer Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S, however, I checked tire rack and they are $190 a piece, the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires seem pretty good, but they're $240 each.

How much do you hate your current tires? I noticed that tire rack (www.tirerack.com) has a sale on them right now. The current price is $89 a piece that's pretty cheap for a 400 AA A, 18 inch performance tire.

I don't buy foreign cars and I sure as heck don't buy Japanese, Korean tires, etc. so you'll have to ask someone else about those.

You're going to find it hard to beat a 400 AA A performance all-season tire, unless you want summer tires.

Sorry - should have given more info. It's my daily driver, Raleigh, NC area, so little to no snow. We do get the occasionalinch or two - don't know if that rules out summer tires or not, never had them before.

I have Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires in 255/45/18 all around. I got them from www.onlinetires.com for about $150 apiece. The shipping wasn't too bad, maybe $50

honestly the KDW's are your best bet unless you want to go to the $170 range. They are loud but if you go to any other tire in that price range then you won't get near the same preformance.

The BFG's are on sale for 96 dollars a tire at tirerack plus like 40 dollars S&H for a set of 4. I'd saying going with them is the best bet at that price.

I would recommend mine, but people don't usually like spending the money for those. But I've yet to find a tire that performs better better and works high speed dry and rain.
