Default Speedometer Question....

I was looking at pics of the interior of the GT Premium and I noticed the speedometer digits only go up to 140. What's with that?! For a V8 300 hsp car, I figure it would go to 160, maybe even 180. I understand that I would probably never go past 140 but just seems like the numbers should be there.

It's just numbers on a dash. Change the overlay if you want higher dash numbers. Do you plan on going faster than 140+ that you need the govenor changed? At that speed no one walks away from a crash.

I blv that the 140mph speedo and 145mph governor are there to remind you that the OEM tires are rated for sustained speeds of only 145mph; most likely a liability/lawsuit issue for Ford if they didn't limit the speedo/governor to the speed rating of the tires.

I believe the speedometer is reflecting on the past mustangs from the 65 era.
