I got a 2005 Mustang GT on order with a X-Plan and right now the dealer tells me that it is showing unschd/clean and that by friday he will know more.

Let me know what you all think

Here is the link that explains the ordering process and it will let you know where you stand in that process:

All it means is exactly what you read. They have no idea when you will get your car.

unschd/clean- unit isn't scheduled (no VIN, no date, no guarantee to build), but is a buildable order once allocation and comodities allow.

I pretty much means..

The Dealer DID order you a car.

and THAT is it... some people have had C&U status for like 4 months now...

Mine has been clean and unscheduled since December 31. Still no word. My dealer keeps saying he is hoping for a build date sometime this week (which he has been saying for 3 weeks now).

Biged, you may want to consider the possibility that your dealer has no allocations left, despite what he tells you. The dealers who are actually telling the truth about their allocations seem to be getting the car in the hands of their customers in 4 months tops. The fact that you haven't gotten a build date is not a good sign. I ordered mine 3/11, asked dealer about allocations and he said that he had 2 left when i ordered. He sincerely expects my order to be pulled this week or next. Also check on your priority number. Just something to consider!

Hey Guys just wanted to jump in here and say I am too squirming in my britches...

My dealer told me that there is a shortage on the Red Lether and that my order may take up to 4 months... My salesman did call me and tell me that my order was listed as C&U about 3 days after I placed the order and made my down payment.

In the meantime I sold my '02 so I "HAVE" to drive my truck everyday now... (not that I am complaining... I love my truck, but its no replacement for a Stang).

Just thought I would pipe in...[]

quick question:

Everyone is saying that their order has been on C/U as so is mine. (ordered 3-19) But are these long waits that have been reported been on just the GT Coupes or can I expect just as long as a wait for the vertibles too, I heard that the wait and letters going out have only been for the coupes. Anybody know different??
