Interior door handle install?
Ok, got an issue and I've searched and searched but can't seem to find the right thread, figured I'd start one to get the answers.
Going with an interior blackout as opposed to satin or chrome interior pieces and I have someone wanting to trade their black parts for my aluminum looking parts. We have both removed everything except the interior door handles and I want to know if anybody could give some guidance on the best way to do this, as well as install since I don't want to crack any trim pieces. Pics would be GREAT as the other party doesn't know how to remove them either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm probably gonna be upgrading to the UPR billet handles as well, powder coated black.

Piece of cake. You will have to remove the interior door panels to do this. Perfect time to upgrade your speakers or put in moleskin while you are already there. Follow the instructions already in this forum for taking off the door panels. Disconnect wiring and then disconnect the door handle cable. Remove the entire door panel and put it on a clean soft work surface. I used a moving blanket. Pop out the cup on the door panel behind the door handle. the bottom portion of the handle and top are pressure fitted in. the lower portion comes out easily enough but the top can be a bit of a bear. Be gentle and use patience. It will come out easily without damage. I used the silverhorse racing door handles. They are finished on both sides and are high quality peices. I would recommend those over the UPR.They also came with great instructions. Putting it all back together is just the reverse. Not hard to do. Can't make a mistake.

Main reason I'm going with the UPR's is 'cause I found someone selling them at $90 shipped, and I'm getting them powder coated as well, save me some loot. I'm sure once I take the door panel off, I'll be able to figure it out...
Am gonna go with the silverhorse A/C ***** though, since they offer them in black w/ red lighting accents for $49 at the site.

I went with the silverhorse because of the quality. I saw some post along with pictures of the finish of other types. They were not deburred on the back and some had burn marks and sharp corners on the finish. The silverhorse although a bit more expensive were of better craftsmanship and seemed that they would hold up to everyday use and last long term. They don't grab or pinch your fingers and work the way they should. And they look killer up close and in person. I've had a good bit of problems keeping the UPR finish shinedon other billet items but no issues with the silverhorse.

Those instructions sucked nuts. For anybody wanting proper instructions for removing the panel/handle, check out the Crutchfield Mastersheet for audio installs. It's around the forums somewhere...
