What I understand the 3:73s' are the perfect gear. I have the 4:10s a course I'm not perfect.

Hmmm... from what I'm reading there seems to be a difference of opinion. I guess the only way to really find out is to get some 3.73s haha. It's a relatively inexpensive mod so I might just go for it in the coming months. If I do, I'll make sure to give a good before/after review with some 0-60 and 1/4 mile times....

Thanks for all the advice and opinions...

Hey Steve, I drove my car for 3 years with the 3.55's and they are fine.

Recently switched to FRPP 4.10's and they are not as drastic as some suggest. I feel the combination of the SCT 93 tune, hurst short throw and gears were just what my car needed, and do not regret the switch.

3.73 are great with supercharged application, if you put in 4.10's and are running high HP you will just smoke the tires to easily in first, I always recommend 3.73 for supercharged apps, and 3.90 or 4.10 for N/A.

People only smoke tires when they want to or by accident when they are racing.

No one is going to have a problem with the 4.10's spinning or smoking the tires in normal driving conditions. The heart of the issue is rpms on the highway/freeway.

You can always avoid spinning in 1st gear.....The fix is DON'T LAUNCH LIKE A MANIAC!

You cannot so easliy avoid driving on highways.

I had 3.55's and went 3.73's. It really wasn't much of a change.

However, next week I'm getting a new rear and some 31 spline axles! That should make a difference!
