Default Shaker 1000 help. Need info.

So Im swapping out my Shaker 500 for the Shaker 1000 in my '06 GT. I have the 1000 head unit and the sub/amp assembly. I need to know what else I need. Do i just need to purchase a Harness from Ford? I called literally 7 dealerships this morning anf NOONE knew. 5 said they were going to call me back, but I know they wont. I have searched high and low and have not found a solid answer. I know aftermarket is better, but thats not what this thread is about, please dont trash up this thread. I just need an answer on what else Ill need. Thanks a ton in advance!!

I think the shaker 1000 cars have a different wire harness. In other words it may not be feasable or affordable to do this.

Well I know it has been done. There was a thread I saw a while ago before I was thinking about doing this where the guy wired it all himself, but now I cant find the thread. haha. I know it can be done, its just the how is where Im stuck.

I looked into doing this last summer when I bought mine. My best friend that works at a local dealership looked up the wiring diagram. I was hoping, as you were, that either the harness was already ran back to the trunk OR you could buy that part of the harness and run it yourself. What I found was, the harness isnt back there and you can't buy just that small part of the harness for the 1000 sub/amp. As usual, its part of one ginormous harness which is big $$ from the dealer.

I think your only bet is to try and find someone who has wired it themselves, but I couldn't find anything onthat topiceither.

Good luck!

The 500 is the same as the 1000 but the 1000 has amps and
speakers in the trunk. You need the harness for the trunk
mounted amps and speakers. GOTO Ford and avoid the hassles.
Upgrading from a 500 to a 1000 is a waste of time and not
worth the harness price, installation (pain in the @ss) or
the rsults when done. IMHO.
