Kind of shocked to hear that. Did they only use aluminum hoods for 05 or is it a composite? When mine was sanded down to bare metal I had to get a special primer to get the paint to adhere. I better go touch up those rock chips I have. [&:]

i took my car to the dealership the other day for this...apparently is a "batch" of hood contaminated during the paint process.

there is an extended 6 year warranty/unlimited miles on corrosion but i dont know if this qualifies

In Canada the paint/rust is covered for 5 years?? Do they not have that in the US?

Not sure if this will help you or not, but I have an 06 Vista Blue hood that I am getting ready to replace and it has no signs of corrosion, rusting or anything like that.

I could probably sell it and ship it for less that the cost of a paint job on yours.

You would have to remove the vinyl stripes yourself if you didn't want them.

I'll be replacing it in the next few weeks when the weather starts to change.
