Default Smoke the tires of a GT auto?

I was just wondering if anyone with a GT automatic has been able to smoke the tires? The tires seem to grip so well that I'm not sure you can do it.

Have you tried to do it with the traction control turned off?

Take the traction control off like said above and use light pedal pressure on the brake and try not to breath too deep.

Noob here... how do you do it in a manual... seems like you need a third leg. The handbreak applies pressure the rear discs right?

HAHA....

You made me think of the "Old School" stupid driver trick known as "Neutral Drops"

Traction Control OFF

Rev the engine to 5 or 6 grand in Neutral

Yank into Drive and keep you foot on the gas...

When the car comes to a stop... pick up transmission pieces and drive shaft off of the rood as to not cause hazards to other drivers.

Clutch pedal in, bring revs up to 3-3.5K, dump the clutch and just floor the gas. If you're good, you may need to shift into 2nd or even third to keep it going. Yes you will be moving forward but if you spin the tires fast enough, you can do a smoke out without using brakes. Brake stands just allow you to melt your tires

I took a dealer's demo out for a test drive and didn't want to go to hard on it. I took the traction control off but I didn't use light pressure on the brakes.
My order went in 2 days ago and it should be 4-6 weeks until delivery.
Red Fire GT auto, IUP and anti theft.

Wow I have some learning to do -- dumping the clutch in my old 4 cylinder Subaru would stall it normally... in any case, I don't think I could stand to do that to my tires.

Traction control has nothing to do with the anti-lock breaks right? It's just the drive slippage eh?

I (think) all the traction control does on the mustangs is cut fuel (to the cylinders) to cut power when it notices a slip. On some cars that have AWD, the traction control will also apply brakes to one of the 4 wheels in turns as needed. I could be wrong on the newer stangs though.

I've seen this on Speed Channel a couple of time. When they went for the burnout, they reved the engine with the clutch in to about 4K RPM in second gear then dumped the clutch.
