They are actually SAFER than a shock. I have seen shock systems fail lots of times. Thing of everything that uses shocks, glass on SUVs/minivans, gates on the same. Have you ever seen then fail?

These are braces they will never fail you unless you fail to lock them into place... They look like the are already bent, but that is the lock position. Notice from my photoshopped photo that the brackets will fold forward.

The only problem that I see is my CAI shroud getting in the way. I will call them tomorrow to find out details...

One of our guys in the posse I run with have them and says they're great. Pretty simplistic, locks in place.

Do they fold forward like I predicted? Also do they fit with a CAI?

Don't know about those, but I purchased a set of Redline Tuning Gas Hood Struts. They work great and are not too expensive.
Yep I got the redline's too and they are sweet!! pretty easy to put on too!!

I bought a set and I am very disappointed, the brackets that mount on the hood and inner fender apron look like something you can buy at Home Depot, the hinges are nice, they are machined billet aluminum, but the fit and overall appearance was disappointing, I never installed them, I have them on a shelf in my garage with some other bad purchases that I've made.

Got mine at MRT, same as CDC though. They are completely out of the way and raise the hood with only a minor boost.

Hey there,

The ones you are looking for are the UPR ones I believe. If you want another option, you might want to check out the Stillen Hood Dampers. Install in a few minutes using factory mounting locations (no holes to drill). Uses heavy duty has struts.

http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?i...;model=MUSTANG

Give me a call (866-278-8287 x134) or shoot me an e-mail (PageN@Stillen.com) if I can be of any help.

Thanks

I have the Redline and they're great. Make sure the locking clip is at the upper portion (towards the cylinder) or they pop off.

Yeah, I actually like the stillen ones also. Question is, is there a coupon code for forum members?
