07 GT kinda slow???

RE: 07 GT kinda slow???
It's my first ohc V8 so I guess I'm more used to pushrod torque which is usually a lot lower in the powerband. Thats where you get that pushed back in the seat feeling. This car runs like a raped ape (spins) if you launch it hard, but if you just soft shoe it from a light it feels like a Taurus. Once it gets to 3000 rpm it will pull hard if you're anywhere over 1/3 down on the gas pedal. I've got 3.55's and would definately go the 4.10 route if I didn't drive 110 highway miles in it daily.

the throttle response, especially in the AT, is not that good stock. so as Mickey stated above, CAI/tune/gears will be much better.
your 98 GT has instant throttle, not like the drive by wire setup on the new ones, but can be fixed w/ a tune.

OK, I wanted to see which direction this would take. I was being sarcastic knowing that a pup posted the thread. My '07 GT runs like a scallded dog and would easily take any 2V 1998 GT. Not even worth discussing.

They need a tune. Call me crazy, but after driving a tuned v6 auto (no laughing please).. I really was not that impressed with the few 5 speed stock GTs I've driven....granted I did not to really get on them off the line. They didn't have 3.55 gears though, so maybe that would have made a difference.
I only felt that sweet v8 power when I floored it on the highway. Off the line my car felt more responsive... despite the lower torque and hp.

well it test drove both the 07 auto and stick before i bought the 07 stick. the auto was alot slower. probably because the stick has 3.55 and auto has 3.21 gears. i took my stock car to the track and ran 13.8. not too shabby for a $24k car. i have added some mods but havent been back to the track since.

Maybe the weight of all your English Grammar/language books were slowing it down ?

That would be 3.31 gears.
