07 GT kinda slow???

RE: 07 GT kinda slow???
Two things, these cars are essentially fly by wire in the brakes and throttle. No mechanical linkages, they are notorious for having very sluggish response when burying your foot in the throttle and nothing really happens until 3000-4000 rpm. There is a fix/mod out there where you essentially adjust the sensors on the throttle underneth the peddle. So that you have more immediate response from putting your foot down to getting your head thrown back.
There is a thread on this somewhere in the forums, and many tried it and said it makes a world of difference.
Getting a cold air intake/engine management tuner combo makes a difference as well in how quickly the engine revs and makes power. But the fly by wire throttle response issue is the biggest culprit. The gear ratio in automatics another variable.

The drive by wire certainly throws some folks, as does the traction control. That said, I've only opened up my '06 a couple of times, I've been told to take the traction control off, but I didn't, and still managed to chirp the tires into 3rd with it on. Take it for what it is.

Buddy, it would take more than just bolt-ons for your 98 gt to take evena "stock" s197. With 4.10s you might get him out of the hole, but he will have you by the1/8 mile mark. I had a 1997 GT, and it was dog slow! The manual and auto S197's are almost right on with each other. It's not like comparing the old slush boxes with the 5-speeds in 2004 and older stangs.

Only 350hp and a lighter car to boot. I guess 50 more horsepower and a few hundred pounds lighter doesn't mean **** in your comparison.
