+1 30-40 series arevery susceptible to damage,it happens, just like potholes.
Don`t get me wrong, I feel bad for you, but it`s a risk we all take. I try to miss them or slow down.

wow thanks for all the support and response, we pay taxes in mass for a reason, and the state likes to spend it on the wrong stuff. a pot hole the size of your tire is outrageous and should be taken care of. i think with the economy the way it is a rim and tire is costly. again thank you all

So was it the stock rims or aftermarket? You pay taxes because you have to. Good luck with the refund from the city.

Dont feel bad, my g/f ruined to wheels and tires in 1 week becuase of potholes, lol.

Shes lucky I work at a tire shop.

I know here in the Chicago area the pot hole situation has never been worse. Fortunately, everyone i know who encountered a flat/any kind of damage due to road defects were able to get the city to replace it after an estimate. All they do is write checks, IMO if it does work out this way where they want you to get one, keep checking until you can find the most expensive one, they aren't even double checking anything, they check the quote, print you a check, and off you go. Then again, i guess around me they have more important things to worry about...like making sure the Gas is more expensive here than anywhere else in the country.

I feel your pain. I bent the lip on one of my chrome 19's. I decided to go with 18" bullitts after that. Anybody want 3 chrome 19's and 1 with a bent lip, let me know!!

My city pays these all the time. Basically, people bring their receipt or a quote from the shop and a picture of the pothole to the legal department, they fill out a claim form, the city writes a check. The only ones they even bother to investigate are the people who claim their $10,000 custom suspension got messed up.

In SE Michigan we have gone from 5 degree days to 40 degree days over and over. This is pot-hole creating weather and we are confronted with so many that its difficult to miss them no matter how carefully you drive. I just saw an article that said that fewer than 20% of damage claims to government bodies ever get paid.
