How To: Stereo Removal?
I just took a quick look at TacoBill's How-To section ... and didn't see it there.
Does anyone have a walk-thru w/ pic on how to remove the factory stereo? (Shaker 500 and/or 1000)
-thanks-

Openn center console armrest.
Remove two screws at the back.
Remove shift ****.
Pull ebrake up.
Yank on console, starting at back, moving towards front. It'll pop off.
Yank on side center stack trim pieces, they pop off.
Remove 6 screws that hold the black plastic bezel on.
Undo the plugs for 12V socket, hazards, and reset/info (if IUP equipped)
Undo plugs for heater stuff
Remove four screws that hold in radio.
Reverse to reinstall.
Take about 15 minutes.

What he said. It is straight forward. Not hard at all. The HVAC control conection is a little different, look at it from the side and find a grey lever. Flip the lever down, it will release!
Be careful not to brake the little gray lever as they are pretty weak. I broke mine while trying to get it off but luckily enough stayed on so I could still reengage them when reassembling the stereo.
Use this Taco Bill walk-through for the removal:

USE THESE LINKS, THEY ARE VERY DETAILED AND HELPFUL

Read them all in detail as some console parts need to come off before you can remove radio/access the bolts. Good luck.

Thanks everyone ... looks like I'll be putting my Kenwood head unit, and Sirius tuner in on my days off.
Guess I need to get a dash kit and wiring harness -- any suggestions on where to get them?
-thanks again-
