How To: Stereo Removal?

RE: How To: Stereo Removal?
Well, I FINALLY got the Kenwood headunit and sirius tuner installed, but I have a small problem.
The sound quality has dropped quite a bit -- w/ the Shaker 500 I seemed to have much deeper and louder bass.
It's almost as if my mids and highs are killing off the bass. I've adjusted everything I could -- and have a decent sounding system, but I really thought that replacing the stereo would create an even better sound.
I did notice when I removed my Shaker - it had 3 wiring harnesses in the back of the unit - of course when I wired up the wiring harness I bought to my Kenwood ... it only used the 1 main (larger of the 3) harness.
It's almost as if some of my speakers are no longer working ... just wondering if I was supposed to take those other 2 wiring harnesses and splice them into the main.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. - thanks
(sorry, don't have pics since everything is back together now)

RE: How To: Stereo Removal?
yeah you have to integrate the shaker 500 amp into the aftermarket wiring harness. im not sure exactly what you need to do because someone else installed mine, but one of those harness' is for the shaker 500 amp.

Yup, there are several things you can do...
Call crutchfield and ask if there is a harness..
Call Bestbuy and ask if there is a harness..
Call Circuit City and ask if there is a harness...
Figure out with one of the harnesses is for the amps and splice in some RCA cables and then plug them into your head unit.
If you are running into this problem then it leads me to believe that maybe adapting this might be a little over your head and might just want to take it someplace to get it fixed up. But ultimately you did leave out wiring up your AMPs and that's why you are having this problem...

I have installed stereos / amps / speakers for quite a while ... in my cars, or friends cars , etc ... I just don't see how I missed this.
Does someone have a pic of the wiring harnesses all together? So I can see what wire I didn't connect or splice ... thanks

RE: How To: Stereo Removal?
Yep, that was the problem Boozshey ... thanks again.
I already had the large harness hooked up, so all I had to do was hook up the small one w/ the blue wire and RCA's ....
boy o' boy what a difference! It sounds 1000x's better w/ the Kenwood than it did w/ the OEM head unit! And the funny thing is now
I can probably take my dash apart in about 5 minutes. lol
