Default Throttle problem...(Surge ?)

This is happening about 2 outta 5 times I drive.
Cruise control or steady throttle only, the engine will surge/accelarate.Like you tap
the throttle slightly.
Does anyone else have this issue or have any info about it ?
Mod's are current in the sig.
Thanks

could be loose connection somewhere and air is leaking or getting in.

I had this. It got really bad where every time I'd take my foot off the accelerator the rpms would surge then drop and stall the car. If it didn't stall it would surge again and drop again, eventually evening out to a steady idle. On the highway with cruise control on I'd even feel a slight surging. I bought some CRC Mass Airflow Sensor cleanor (at Murray's Auto Parts) and cleaned the MAF, then the throttle body. That did it. Seems the throttle body should be cleaned about every 6 months. I had gone more than 2 years and 26,000 miles. You could also have a defective Throttle Position Sensor. But first give a good cleaning and see how it responds.

BTW...the TB cleaner may cause the check engine light to go on once you start your car. Basically it would indicate a fuel mixture issue. That's what mine did. Since I have a CAI and tuner I just cleared the error codes and the car has been fine since. But you can also disconnect the battery for a few minutes to clear the codes, or take it into AutoZone and they will clear them for you.
