consider that there are 4g63 and even some of the newer 3.8 Eclipses that would easily waste you and even some GT's...
NO new eclipse gt (dont they only have like 260hp and weight almost the same) can beat a new a gt, stock for stock of course

the eclipse does look pretty nice.......in my rear view mirror.

i like that there are tons of after market stuff for the mustang and you can reallybuild it to how you want it pretty easily.

I never said stock, I've seen a few Eclipse GT's in the high 13's.

i had a 2000 eclipse GT and came over to a Mustang GT last October...get the mustang. I really enjoyed my eclipse, but compare power and weight of both cars (if you are wanting more performance out of your buy.) If I could have gotten a car 4g63 though (evo especially) I probably would have gone with that buy because that engine makes a lot of power really fast, really easy, really cheap. The new eclipse isn't worth it imo though.

I test drove both when I was in the market for the convertible. First, I test drove the Eclipse and thought "this is great". Then I test drove the Mustang and the dicision was made right there and then. IMO they don't compare. The Mustang is roomier in the cabin and felt much faster.

Drive them both, and I bet you buy the mustang. stock vs stock stang is faster/more power. You can custimize it the way you want it to make it your own. all around more fun to drive imo.
