Wow, so much wrong info on here...

OKAY guys, since I own one, and am a member on Eclipse Forums, I'll fill you all in....

Stock 263 Hp 260 TQ weight 3490 With M/T and 3550 W/Auto, not including options.

Now, there has never been a Stock 4G break the 13's. Close, but no cigar. Now, modded, the fastest yet, ran a 13.5 on a G-force, go figure. On a real track, a 13.7 . Ok, that cannot beat an S197 with equal drivers, but not everyone is equal.

Now, for the dumb person in the S197 sixxer, that claims to beat all gens of the Eclipse, I would laugh in your face if you were here. First off, they run mid 14's with an average driver, your Sixxer runs low 15's with an average driver, so please tell me how your stockish sixxer can beat one? Now, a 3G, would still be pretty tough, since they weigh approx. the same, similar HP and TQ, and are way more aero then our bricks.

I personally like the Eclipse. Good features, they handle so much better then our GT's, would kill us on an autocross track, provided they are not racing a professional driver like Evan Smith, but other then that, yes.

If you want speed, buy the Mustang.

If you plan on tracking your future car, buy the Eclipse.

Also, going back to the 4GGT VS s197 GT, it would take a 4G will full-bolt ons to beat one with equal drivers. Sure, it sucks, but, that is the truth. some don't believe it, but, those that don't need to understand a mustang is built for one thing. Speed!

Moving on, people, use GOOGLE to get your facts straight....

KTHXBYE!

Just curious... it looks like you are NOT running an intercooler with your Vortech... and you are making 425 at the wheels? At 11 psi? What are your intake temps at 11 psi boost? Must be like 200+ degrees, no?

I think you should get the eclipse since you would even ask a question like that.

My temps are perfectly normal actually. Approx. 200 or less degrees. I actually run 11.39 lbs of boost. But, that's besides the point....

Do you not get more power with an intercooler? I thought at 8lbs of boost with an intercooled system you can get approx 420+ rwh, so shouldn't you get more with 11+ lbs of boost?

Not trying to start something, just curious.

I don't have an intercooler.

Stkjock has an intercool Vortech on his Manual GT and does not put much more power out then my auto non-intercooled GT. Typically, yes, more power. Now, if I were to stay @ 11psi on an intercooled kit, I'd be somehwere around 450+ RWHP and 400+ RWTQ

Ah, I got ya. [8D]

Iwill chime in on the whole eclipse vs. Mustang. there are alot of cars, including the Eclipse, that do have a little nicer interior, which more bells and whistles. My sister used to have a topped out Accord. It talked to you. When you get into the Mustang, and drive it, and I mean drive it, you will forget about all those bells and whistes. I bought a 2006 Mustang Gt back in june of '06, and showed it to her, took her for a ride. nine days later the Honda was traded in....
