06 GT. Just bought it used w/4500 miles. It's making a noise like aluminum foil crinkling and it's coming from the back of the car. Not as bad when I'm on the highway up to speed, mostly in town. I've had my girl sit in the back while I drove the car to see where it's coming from and if she could get it to stop by pressing on different things. As far as she could tell it's coming from where the rear window mates up with the car - though it's tough to say for sure.

Carfax came up clean on this car before I got it. It has no overspray that I could see or badly fitting panels. No clunking or any crazy noises like that while driving.

What do you think is happening here? Will the dealership be able to do anything about it? I hope the car wasn't in a wreck because if it was I'm going to drive down to beat someone within an inch of their life. [:@]

 

So what's the deal guys? Do you think Ford is going to charge me to track down the source of this noise? It could entail some labor. The car is obviously under warranty - but I'm not sure it'll matter in this situation.

I would check this site's Recall and TSB section, to see if there is something about it there...

Depending on your dealer, they may be kind enough to help you out tracking the source or just charge you for checking out that....

If the noise is not right, the car is under warranty and Ford pays to investigate the noise, no question about that. I have had strange noises in my car, different from your experience, and Ford spent a lot of time tracking down and attempting to correct them.
