Too many factors are involved. Dealership, area you're located in, time of year you're buying, how much they're hurting for sales, etc.

Personally I paid a couple grand under sticker "out the door." Taxes (ouch!), tags, title, etc.

my sticker 31. left 26. same ordeal that everyone else went through. gotta jump through some of their loops.

overall, i'm pretty freakin satisfied...gt prem, 5 speed, iup, comfort pkg, ambient lighting

only negative is the 17 inch bullits, but that's not a big deal considering they're getting swapped for racelines.

I ended up buying mine used for $19k with 12K miles, but when I was pricing new onesabout 5 months ago thedealers immediately went to $25.5kfor asetup that stickered for right at $30K. That was pretty much w/o any negotiation. I assume thatI could have gotten them to come off that a little more, but that isabout $200 over invoice to start with. A fewyears ago that is where you hoped to get to. Play hard ball, b/cright now you have the definite advantage.

Well here is a story. I need a commuter car. I like the Focus ZX3 but they don’t make them any more. I found a new one on a local lot. The car was delivered to the dealer in November of 2006. When I went in to make a deal they would not go less than sticker minus rebate no matter what. Now I am stuck. I want this car and it’s the only new one left in my state. What now?

Tell them the car has been on the lot for a year and a half and if they want to sell it to you they have to drop the price 2,500 + rebates.
If they say no, leave and go look for something else, wait to see if the salesman calls you with a deal.
