So it sort of scares me that we, especially those with manual trannies, rroutinely get up to 5K rpms in normal driving.
5K RPM?
Hell I hit the damn rev-limiter almost every day.

Drive it like you stole it!!!
It is more fun that way!

Hey, my uncle use to work for Chevrolet out on the test track in Detroit, MI. And he said that abusing a car is not what you all are doing. He said the tests he use to do one these cars was abuse. So, enjoy the car. I get on mine also. It is a fast sports car. Enjoy it and eat up all the rice out there. Because, "There is no replacement for displacement!"

I only have 4800 miles on mine and its a 07. I have had it for about 9 months. I dont beat on it much at all either , still feel as if I have to break it in , even though I have read there is no break in period.

Any test you can think of he did. Skid pad tests, braking, accelerating, etc.. Also, I have an 08 and it said in the owner's manual and the dealership told me I should be careful and don't sustain a constant speed for the first 1500 miles. then after that I could do what ever.
