Disconnect your battery cable for a few minutes - reconnect and the check engine light should be off. But, if it continues to come back on - get it checked out. I think Auto Zone will check it for free (if you have one in your area).

Any run problems? Mine is bogging bad and the dealer here in virginia has no clue. The check engine light will not go out and it went into Fail Safe mode twice. The Detroit tech rep is flying in to figure it out.

A friend at work also has a GT. His has come on and gone into failsafe mode....the dealership has had the thing for 2 weeks now. Whatever part they need for it is on national backorder - seems kinda like a common term with our cars huh?

At least my national backorder part was simply a bolt and I kept the car till it came in.

His car has now been at the dealership longer than he has had it.

I've been told that the bogging down thing is due to something Ford put in the fly by wire throttle control to protect the transmission and rear end. You supposedly can take it out by doing a reflash with like a Xcalibrator or Predator
