So, Sonic,.....you're, in a sense, forcing me to install my new Bassani catted X-pipe tomorrow afternoon? Is that correct?
I will love the sound? Not too loud? Not raspy AT ALL?
everyone's taste is different, but the sound and volume reminds me of a 03-04 cobra with stinger catback, so i love it.

it does have some volume, but it's clean.. so it's great to me.

i haven't found another setup that really reminds me of the previous gens.

Ok, cool! That's what I was thinking listening to the youtube video.....sounds like the 2-valve with the hard-hitting thumps.

The Bassani is a good pipe and I think pretty much anything matched with it will sound good, but the quality of the Bassani and all the slip fits it has is a pain. Magnaflow in my opinion sucks...sounds like too much like stock, plus it is way over priced. What about the BBK catted X that is out?? anyone using that?? Its says on the Brothers Performance site that it is 2 3/4" in dia. I imagine it is flared up after it is bolted to the manifold?? Anyone have any input on this???

I am getting the Bassani catted X tomorrow. What do you mean by raspy? Are you saying my car will not sound like this?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD3htFQg9bU

I don't consider that raspy.
I've learned one thing the hard way.... soundclips don't do ANNNY exhaust justice...some better some worse. Plus it all depends on the quality of the camera on how much sound its going to pick up.

The o/r H-pipe is the way to go...

the cats on the magnaflow x are what magnaflow sells as their factory replacement cats.. so i don't really think they're much more free-flowing than stock. thus, not much louder either.

the cats on the bassani x are small and you can see straight through them.. very, very noticably louder than stock H.

the bassani is a happy balance between an o/r setup (too raw) and the stock H (too tame and muffled)

i've had plenty of setups and i don't ever plan on changing the bassani/stinger setup.
I had the bassani catted X too. When I ran it with striaght pipes it was crazy loud and raspy as hell, when I put the cats on it sounds very aggressive, throaty and raspy but only in a good way. Def louder than the H because the cats are super high flow. At WOT the exhaust sounds racy and screams

Well, I'm pretty confused now. Not sure what I'll do.

......anyone want to buy a brand new Bassani modular catted X-pipe? I'm already happy with the sound of my stingers, so I figure why mess with it.

Well, my Bassani catted X arrived this morning.

I have a few options.

Try it and keep it if I like it or sell it if I don't.
Return it to Brenspeed andeat the 20% restocking fee and shipping cost.
Sell it to someone and eat the shipping cost.
Splice the X in to my stock cats and try it that way.

I'm concerened that I spent a lot of money on something I'm not going to be happy with. In terms of exhaust sound, I'm very hard to please. I'm feeling some buyers remorse.

How will you know if you don't like it if you don't try it out first?

I say give it a go and then tell us your opinion.
