why would plugs break ? I change plugs all the time, (not in this car yet, has 14k) I have never had one break.
I'm dreading the plug breakage thing
You are in for a very unpleasant surprise then. Do some reading on the Ford 5.4 and the 4.6 3V heads. Enjoy.

Well I think your Mustang has a long ways to go yet. I have had excellent luck with not only Mustang's but all my Ford's. I have driven a lot of them well past the 100,000 mile mark trouble free. I wouldn't be too worried about your clutch unless you are hard on it because I had a car that I droveover 150,000 miles and was still on the original clutch. I sold it to a relative and it is still going strong. The only thing that has been replaced is the thermastat and the tie rods. Keep up the good maintanence and I think you will be surprised how long it will run.

I think it really matters how you drive your car. If you never romp on it cold, always drive highway miles with minimal stop and go traffic everthing ages well.
I have lots of stop and go unfortionately, so I am guessing my mustang will not fare as well when I am at 100k. But up till now (12k) I've had no problems. I can say I am past the point of a friday or monday car... Friday and Monday cars are notorious bad ones, Friday because they are tired from a week work, and want to go to weekend, and monday because they are still drunk from the weekend. (Someone told me this, I don't know if there is any credibility to it, but it does make sense ).

I already have 16K on my 07 and will average 25K a year in it so I am glad to hear your 110K NO ISSUE story, gives me hope that my first Ford DD will last as long as my previous DD which were Hondas : )

Just change plugs, oil, in cabin filter, fuel filter, air filter, coolant flush, tranny flush, and check your hoses and if you just changed the belt then you would be good to go for a while after that. But I would make sure you do all of those things as soon as you can. I wouldn't be too worried about cleaning the gas tank out I would stick to the normal preventative maintenance.

Wow! Thats great, keep going! This thread reminds me of a recent article I read in Hemming's Feb '08 issue of "Muscle Machines" of a '71 Mustang hardtop(351C/4bbl/4 spd.)that some guy owned since new, and he currently has 500k miles on it, and its still going!!! The owner stated there were three things to pay attention to: "There are three things to pay attention to with a car: One, keep records of everything- mileage, fuel consumption, everything. This is how you'll know when something isn't right. Two, keep it cleanoutside, inside, and underside. And lastly, you have to care about the car. If you don't practice good car care, anything else you do will not matter" Words to live by. Maybe we'll be reading about your car in 400,000 miles!! Good luck!

Hopefully she will keep going strong! My 2000 super sport camaro, which I babied, went to crap when it hit 46000 miles. I traded it in for a srt4. This 05 gt has 51K miles and looks and runs perfect!
