Mine (on a 2008 Shaker 1000) mutes the radio or pauses a CD. It does not say MUTE, it just has a picture of a telephone handset.

When the cell phone rings it's easier to just hit the largeon/off button on the radio/cd playerthanstart trying to find that little mute button. A useless feature IMO.

I think it's for the Bluetooth Interface for the Shaker radios. I think I saw it on the catalog for mustangs.

thats what i was thinking. i will try activating the bluetooth on my phone, then hitting that button in the morning.

the only S197 i testdrove was a Bullitt, wasnt impressed at all. It had the throttle surge that some people talk about and the shifter was way to notchy. I think mine rides better then the Bullitt i drove.

And for a stock Ford shifter on mine, its really nice!!

Very happy with my choice.

So is it too early to ask about mods? My first mod on my 07 was exhaust..These cars are wayy too quiet..
