Spiffu

In the past couple weeks my car has developed an annoying rattle that occurs mostly during freeway travel when crusing at about 3000 rpm or up to WOT. The lower section of the dash (inside of it, it seems) rattles with the oscillations of the engine revs though not exactly.) At first I thought I was having engine problems of some sort but you can't hear anything from the outside, that was ruled out.

I want to think it's somewhere in my shifter assembly, but I also get rattles from just underneth the vents.

I'm wondering what are the common noises people have had pop up in their cars, and I know this is a common problem, and what solutions they done to alliviate them.

I got a random dash rattle in the place you are describing, but not in any sort of frequency or any specific circumstance. It happened after I got the airbag recall done, and it did it for about 3 days. after that it went away and I havent heard from it since. I'm sure I'm lucky though

I had a rattle start up a while back and i thought it was in the dash.
It was not it is in the shifter,I hold my hand on the shifter boot and the rattle is gone.

I have a rattle in my dash, I've had it since the car was a few months old; OBNOXIOUS!!! I've taken it to Ford numerous times they can't fix it. Pisses me off

The mirror inserts will rattle some also.

something in my shifter is rattling, but I'm not too concerned as I will be ordering a new shifter soon.

I have a rattle in my dash, I've had it since the car was a few months old; OBNOXIOUS!!! I've taken it to Ford numerous times they can't fix it. Pisses me off

no rattles yet but reading all these posts about rattles ,now i know why ford puts nice loud steros in these cars

That's exactly what I do when I hear a slight rattle, but I find it only happens when the temps are cold. I guess the leather boot gets stiff from the cold weather and it vibrates against the stick.

Maybe I should find some leather softener or conditioner......that might do the trick!

i get a rattle in my dash..but that's cuz of my license plate hangin in between dash and windshield.
