Darn it, automatics get no respect at all !!

I went to the local grocery store as I exited my car the guy pushing the grocery carts back in the store says to me "nice car, is it a manual?" this guy was easily in his thirties and had a filthy vest on, in other words nothing on this guy said success.

I answered that it was an automatic,

He replies, "oh well, its still nice."

BASTARD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm over 30, does that mean I'm also a failure? [8D]

Sports cars aren't fun without a manual, IMO.

you are a failure if:

you are over 30
pushing grocery carts for a living
wearing a filthy vest, pants, shoes
critize someones great looking car, specially if you take the bus home

If these qualifications apply, yes, you are a failure....

Altough, I prefer a manual...
You souldn't get bent out of shape because of one idiot.
I much rather have an auto Mustang than a manual Hyundai. Sure that's what is driving.
Automatics have their advantages, and it's your car.
End of story.

Ahhh....another Rodney Dangerfield moment.

Smile, consider the source, and enjoy driving off in your beautiful Mustang.

You could of said, "Nice grocery cart you're pushin' dude!"

i'm sure the crap *** old econo box he's probably driving around in is a auto as well. the fact is with modern transmissions auto are usually faster that manuals. just because you can drive a stick good there are few people who can drive it faster than a auto canshift. i'm sure there are a few people here who can truly drive a stick good but lets face it there aren't a lot of people who are going to post the same kind of numbers at a track with a manual as the proswho drive for mags do. i have a manual just because i enjoy shifting but i've always been curious if I could beat someone with a auto and all the same mods as me. i doubt it.

For drag racing, you want an auto, yes sir.
And heavy traffic.

Look the irony of that... If you want to go fast or really slow, you need an auto.
