So I have been practicing more and more lately driving stick and have become really good at it. My friend has just bought an 08 GT 5spd and I got to drive it! What a blast that was! It is SOO much fun driving that car in stick, although he lives in the Bronx and hates that damn traffic he goes through every day, it is still fun other than that. I am building my Mustang Wednesday and am trying to come to a conclusion on the Auto vs Stick thing. I like Manual but incase my mom or some one needs to drive or the ridiculous traffic in NY, its no fun. I might just stick to the Auto though, it's still good.

I mean is the difference in perfomance that big?

id get an auto. but one thing I've observed about sticks is thatbuying one and enjoying ithas a lot to do with your personality rather than your preferred driving style, so you should sit down and think hard rather than listen to other people.

no just get a stick, once you're used to it, even in traffic it seems no different than an auto

Traffic here in new york is horrible...however if you want a stick get it. I went with an auto because my mom cosigned for me and it was the only way she would have it. Do I wish I had a manual? Yes, sometimes I do. It's still a fun car to drive regardless. Good luck either way. Where in NY are you from?

I live in CA and we have our share of traffic as well I'm used to Stick the only thing you will learn is that in a very very very bad traffic situation your ankles will hurt a bit, and if you get stuck in hill traffic which I have been in bumper to bumper going up Hwy 17 for 2 hours .. at the end of it all my clutch was not the same

I still would not go back to auto I love stick but to each their own

I can't deny that when I am stuck in a jam I wish I had auto
