Default to repaint the stang or not

as a result to my last thread about my car getting keyed (bad) i have been pondering the idea to have my car repainted completely. right now its white with navy blue stripes AND keyed. i can stick with white or go with the color that was my first choice in a stang which is black. im still kinda on the fence whether or not i want to go through with a whole new color.

my friend tossed out the idea of painting the car flat black and putting glossy black stripes on. does anyone have pictures of this?

i need your advice on the whole to repaint a new color or not thing, too!

I wouldn't change colors, keep it factory.
It is a reaL PITA to switch a car's color and it wouldn't be worth as much in the end.
Nothing is more annoying then opening a hood and seeing a different color then the body. [:'(]

black is a very hard color to get right

cuz you can see every detail

if you go with black, make sure its done right, prolly gonna be more expensive than other colors.

best time to get black is from the factory, or a reputable custom shop

id say keep it same color, unless you have the dough to shell out

Keep the white, my black car gets so dam dirty like an hour after I wash it, it drives me nuts. Plus it gets super hot in the summer time. Plus I always hated seeing repainted cars and you open the door and the door trim is a different color..it looks tacky. Same with the engine bay, it would be white while the outside black..Just stay with white, Cheaper than paying to get the whole thing repainted too I think. Not sure how bad it got keyed though. Just my opinion.

don't even consider flat black. scratches show very very easily on it. its really hard to manage.

as for changing the color, id say keep the color you have now, and just fix it up. if you really want black, i think trading or selling/buying your stang might be more financially friendly

the passenger side door needs to be replaced and so does the driver front 1/4 panel. the other marks can be sanded and repainted/buffed.

im worried about my car looking weird if they dont match the white paint right. thats why i was thinking of getting it 100% repainted

+1 on the engine bay.
After all these years, I still don't know how to repaint an engine compartment without yanking out the motor.
If anyone knows how to do this in a professional way with the engine still in there, please fill me in.

Color change are OK when you start from scratch. Like a restoration or a custom built etc...
On a DD, it's bad news.

You could always two tone with the black dominant. Like red on top, silver, yellow whatever you'd like.

I doubt that 3 grand is going to cover the cost of having it repainted white.

Stick with white, just make sure you take it to a reputable shop.

and from what i understand, unless the paint job is perfect in every way, changing a car's color seriously hurts resale value, right?
