Doable, yes, easy no. You may get everything for it to be done mechanically, but you need a new ECU, auto and manual are different, and then reprogram the new ECU for your keys and your VIN.

That will be at least 5K in parts
You can buy a five or six speed kit from D & D (tranny, driveshaft, bellhousing, clutch, shifter),but then you still need a new PCM, new wiring harness &/or pigtails for speed sensors etc, master cylinder booster and more.
You better bevery goodat automotive wiring if you are doing this yourself. Then the dealer would have to re-program your new PCM for the keys.
If you are paying a technician to do it you will pay a few grand for labor.
My Ford dealer has done this but the customer paid mucho labor.

What if two people wanted to swap? For instance, I have a manual and I'd love an auto... all the parts are there... just remove and swap, re-install... I understand the cpu problem, but that is a simple reflash, or cpu swap altogether.... just curious as well...

Technically it can be done but its cost prohibitive... If you really want a manual I'd trade your car in... The loss you're gonna take trading is probably less than what the swap will cost you...

trade it in....when you go to sell the car later on and it has a different transmission, you're going to take a bigger hit. So you pretty much spent 4-5k to deflate the value of your car lol. Trade it in for a manual
