I'm afraid I might get banned for asking this question about mods :)

If you're worried about mpg, save your money for gas, not mods. Mods are wasteful spending if you're trying to gain mpg.
EDIT: Ok, I thought of something you can do to gain mpg's and maybe gain money. Sell your stock tires and rims and buy some really skinny tires and rims. You want mpg? There you go, but there goes your car's looks too.

the thought of getting a cai and tuner to increase fuel mileage only is absurd..
say you increase your mpg by 2mpg. You will have to drive 40,000thousandmiles to make your money back you invested in the cai and tuner.

Very good point. If you increase hp by bumping up the timing, you need more fuel, so it will only hurt. You can't just pull it out of your *** and hope for a miracle. Not directed towards you persay.

I get 19.5mpg in 100% city driving with a GT, so there is no reason you should be getting less than 25mpg in your 6 cylinder if you are somewhat driving efficiently. Just dont do jack rabbit starts and if the light is red ahead of you, brake slowly towards it and try to stop as few times as possible.

No way the 6er can get 25 mpg city. It gets that highway easy enough.

I'm loving this...
Keep your foot off the gas etc...
Well duhh. Park the car too. Your gas mileage will improve dramatically.
CAI and tune will helpyour gas mileage since your car will run more efficiently (rpm for rpm).
Hell, if anything, a K&N filter makes a difference, not huge, but still.
Problem is, after you wake the car up with CAI/Tune, you don't drive as conservative anymore.

I'm not even believing you said this. Get your physics books out. More HP means more energy burned= less mpg.
