cutting silicone hose?

cutting silicone hose?
I recently purchased some new black silicone hose to replace the ugly light blue hose that came with my C & L CAI. The problem now is since it automatically came in 3" legnths, I need to cut them both since they are too long. Any idea how to get a nice clean and most importantly STRAIGHT cut? The hose is semi-flexable (I can squeeze the sides together easily) but rigid from end to end (if that makes sense.
Since I dropped over $40 in them, I'd like to do it right the first time.....suggestions?
Thanks much

RE: cutting silicone hose?
On a machine lathe, turn down some Aluminum stock until it is the same
OD as the ID of the silicone tube and long enough to slide the tube
onto and get the desired length supported for cutting. Now rig
up an exacto knife on the cross slide tool holder and advance the
blade into the tube, while it is rotating at a relatively slow speed,
at the desired length. You might need to use a hose clamp to keep
the tube from slipping on the Aluminum slug. No lathe, send them to
me and I can Get er done.

Heck, I'd probably either use a straight edge and an X-acto knife ormy paper cutter. Probably wouldn't get a nice, clean edge with the chain saw of circular saw...
