just got mine today, fyi, you might wanna program the fob before you get the key cut, just to make sure the buttons work.

Doesn't the new key need to be cut to turn it to the on position to program it?

you can also program it by:

-put one key in the ignition(already programed)
-have ALL keys for that vech with you INSIDE the car, and close ALL doors and trunk.
-turn the key to the "on" position and back 8 times ending in the "on position, the car will lock itself and unlock.(entering key program mode)
-within 10 seconds or so, press any button on the fob in the ignition, the locks will lock and unlock.(that key is now programed)
-repeat for all keys
-if you have a touch pad, press the two right most buttons at the same time, the locks will lock and unlock.(the touch pad is now programed)
-take the key out of the ignition
-done

that was the older way. worked on my 08.

it's a nice thing to have, the only advantage i see is less things dangling form the key chain. but im still waiting for the stang to come with keyless start like just about everyone else, i mean even suzuki's have nicer entry and start features.

I dunno...it's nice and all but $55 for a key that's really nothing more than stock size-wise and function-wise???If it was one of those "switch blade" style jobbers I'd probablybite.

(and this coming from a guy who paid $60 for a billet emergency brake handle!!! ).

my girlfriend has the new 08 escape and it has the this same key. i definitly like it more than the one that came with the mustang. i dont carry anything on my car keys so having something that is one piece makes it a little easier.
