Default Pinion angle assistance please

Using CrazyAl's measuring technique (with the square), I came up with 87.5* at the tranny flange and a hair over 90* at the pinion flange. Assuming my math is correct (), this gives me close to 2.5* of negative pinion angle. Correct?

Now, CrazyAl's info suggests about 2* of negative pinion angle. BMR Fabrication's install instructions for the adjustable LCA suggest 2-3* on cars with manual transmissions. Should I leave my car at -2.5*, or get it closer to 2*??

thanks, mike

That's kind of what I'm thinking. I just need to find an alignment shop that specailizes in it. I just want to make sure my rear axle is square and straight. It should be, I installed the LCA's again tonight; moved from lower hole to upper hole (on relo-brackets) and this time, I measured factory lengths (hole to hole) with my Mitutoyo dial calipers.......both adjustables are about .005 longer than the factory LCA.Man, Im a loser.....doing stupid math instead of tearing into my struts.

Ford manual compares front u joint angle to rear. Front is calculated by the flange angle - shaft angle (large number -small) the rear is shaft - pinion flange (large vs small).
These two calcultions must be = or within 1 degree, have a 3 degree maximum operating angle, and have a min of 0.5 degree operating angle (to avoid brinelling of the needle bearings)
So, looks like I should adjust mine a bit, since right now everything is at .... 0.
