Don't go thru the carwash with louvers!
The title basically says it all. I have Astra-Hammond (however you spell it) aluminum rear window louvers. Well today was the first time I ever went thru a touchless carwash. Everything was going great until the high pressure water jets and high pressure air almost ripped the louvers off my car. They were getting all distorted and flexing in ways they shouldn't when they were getting blasted. They are still on the car and it doesn't appear that any damage happened to them, but it was pretty dreadful to watch. If they were painted the paint probaly would have cracked. I thought about taking them off before, but didn't think it was going to be that bad. Next time I will tho.

Wouldn't go through an automatic carwash.
I'm sure the louvers would have been fine though. I've pressure washed mine before and they flexed but never bent, it does look scarey though.

Maybe the big question isn't why you left the louvers on........as much as why you were in a automatic car wash?????
Then again maybe you didn't have an option, been there![&:]
