Basic lowering
Noticed how much better our cars look lowered. Have some dumb newbie questions about it. I have a GT vert with 500 miles or so.
Car has 17 x 9 wheels with 255/50s. Would I ideally need bigger wheels to make it look as good?
Are there any issues warranty-wise or dealer service-wise with lowering a car under warranty?
What's a good starter, not to agressive set-up to go with? Any idea how much I can expect to pay for the parts and labor to get it done? I don't have correct tools and my skills are basic mechanical.
Anything else for me to consider?
Thanks.

RE: Basic lowering
Love the pic of Dan Snyder.lol. Im going with the steeda ultralites and tokico d-specs. It is a mild drop (1 inch Front 1.25 in the back) I also bought the steeda HD upper strut mounts to eliminate NVH that the stockers are said to have with aftermarket setups. It is a mild drop and the d-specs can give you a harsh ride or ride like a cadillac ctsdepending on how you adjust them (they have a remote tool that allows you to adjust fromstiff to soft). Im getting mine installed tomorrow at a local shop in Easton,MD and they arecharging me $260 for the swap and $65 for the front end alignment. I called some other shops and have gotten quotes ashigh as $500 and another $60 for alignment.

RE: Basic lowering
Here is a pick of Eibach Pro-Kit (probably the most popular lowering springs)with 235/55/17:
I also have a set of 18x9s (summer tires) and it looks really good with those.
Warranty?: Same answer as always - if your mod causes the problem they will not warranty it. So ask yourself - what problems could lowering springs cause. Most of us don't worry about it.
$200-250 seems about right for the install. The Eibach Pro springs are in the $220 range. Its a pretty easyDIY job but you would need jack, jack stands, torque wrench, deep well sockets, etc.
