Bent Axle Shaft
hello,
I was driving my 2007 GT500, hit some ice and then the curb fairly hard bending my right rear right rear axle shaft. I see other axle shafts on FRPP for $140, but my mechanicsay part is unavailable. I may have to buy entire assembly for $1600.
Why doesn't ford sell axle shaft for by itself?
If I have to replace entire assembly should I upgrade? Any ideas?

First never pay 1600 for the rearend. You get get takeoff's way cheaper then that. You can get aftermarket axles online for a good price. Just look for 31 spline axles for the 8.8 rearend. They are easy to install, if you have somebody do it, it should take no more that 2.5 hours.
