saw my first bullet today!

I've tried to buy 3 Bullitt's in the last 3 weeks. Dealers think they are made of gold or something. They seem to be treating them like GT 500's, trying to sell them for thousands over sticker. My last offer would have given the dealer at least $5,000 in profit with my trade and he still said no. I guess Ford dealers are making so much money these days they can afford to sit on inventory for months. They must have the most patient owners in the industry.
Sorry, I just had to vent.

There are at least 12 Bullets at dealers within 50 miles of my house. The dealer I came closest to closing a deal with two weeks ago has 5 on his lot alone, 2 green and 3 black. You'd think they would want to sell them but I guess I'm wrong.
I'm an old guy so I like the toned down sleeper look of the Bullitt. I remember muscle cars in the 60's and 70's with no chrome, radio and heater delete, dog dish hubcaps your grandmother would be proud of but they had 427's or 440 six packs or 454's under the hood.

Bullitt, not bullet.
Bullitt, not bullet.
Maybe I'll scan something later . . .Anyway, I think it'll be really easy for most everybody that isn't either at least a closet Mustang fan or a thief to not recognize a Bullitt for what it is. Not that that's a bad thing - I'll choose subtle over flash every single time given that the content is there. Those who know what it is will appreciate it. Those who don't wouldn't understand anyway.
There was a Highland Green Bullitt on the floor (Winner Ford, Cherry Hill, NJ, and it's still there if anybody's looking) when we were going about the business of ordering our Mustang, and there were a number of things that I really did like about it. From little things like the satin finish trim rings around the eyeball vents (instead of the GT's chrome) to the performance upgrades.
But the $2k navigation system that was installed that neither of us have any particular use forcombined with the unavailability of afew items that we really did wantwas more than an OEtune and 3.73's could ever make up for. I didn't realize it at the time, but having the fog lights on the GT really does provide useful "fill-in" light up close. No "buyer's regrets" here, as my GT will be at about Bullitt-level power in a couple of days and at or beyond Bullitt suspension/wheel/tire specs soon enough.

I agree completely. To me the Bullitt is too plain looking. I saw one in my rear view mirror yesterday and thought it was a V6 until I saw the chrome around the grill. The dealer I bought my stang at has a 2007 Shelby GT that they have been asking $55k for for over a year. Now they have a 2008 Vert Shelby GT sitting next to it. I guess they can afford to carry inventory for a long time.
