RE: 05 Mustang GT Buying. Help!!
Offer him 16K and be prepared to walk away. They'll probably come back around $19,500 and still walk away. Eventually they'll come down to reality. If they don't move on.

RE: 05 Mustang GT Buying. Help!!
As a reference I paid $21750 for a used 06GT w/4500 miles. Bought it in February. Seemed like a good deal @ the time.
But then I've read from people on various forums getting into BRAND NEW 08 GTs for 23-24K. Then I didn't feel so good about the deal I got...

If those are dealer prices, you can get TONS off those prices. If private party, person is nuts, offer them way less.
ALWAYS walk away, especially froma car dealer. They always call back.
I bought a car for my kid last year. 3 years old with 17,000 miles (nota mustang). Dealer asking $16,900. I got it for $12,900. Had to leave twice. THe markup in used cars is ASTRONOMICAL. Look to get 20% off what they are asking for when you start. Asking $23,000 at the dealer? Target $19,000.

You need to walk into a dealer with your homework of printouts of the values of each car your looking at.
I went into ford with a printout of employee pricing, xpricing, invoice price, and current incentives. All of these helped me get the car below invoice.

Thanks for the tip guys! And i'm planning to buy this within the next month or two, will there be less stangs on the market or the same/more amount of stangs? Should I try to buy them within the month or can i wait about a month or two?

[align=left]I had the same problem when I was looking for my mustang. So I gave my grandpa a call who was a car salesman for his whole adult life and asked him what dealers will usually give on their vehicles when new/used and he told me to take the total price they are asking and offer about 83% of that as my first offer and from there they may come down a little.
