Default EASY, straight forward break in question?

What RPM does Ford recommend to keep the engine under and for how long? I know that all of you have your own theories, but I want to know what the factory recommends. Thanks.

I personally do not think RPM moderation is as critical as constantly changing the RPM (fast slow, fast slow). No cruise control for at least the first 1000 miles. And a good hard run through the gears every once in a while is a GOOD thing (for you AND the car).

heres the deal

first start hold at 2000 rpm to break in the cams for 2 mins

after about 20 miles

use 2rd gear and hit it hard from bout 2500 to just below redline and let off fast down to 2500 again

do this 10 times in a row and your rings are then seated

change oil at 500 then again at 1000 then 5000

motor should feel sweet after that

enjoy
