Default Air Bag Recall Info

Lots of threads on this, but I had a good experience with my dealer today. I went in and asked what is involved with the Recall. They told me they reprogram the PCM for the air bag. I told them my concerns with them reprogramming anything and nto to touch what Ihave had done already to the car. They said No Problem, fixed the air bag thing, complimented my set up, and said have a nice day.

So I wouldn't sweat the Mods for a recall fix.

Just my 3 cents, since gas went up so did my opinion

Do you mean they needed to reprogram the RCM? Not the PCM.

I took mine in today also. They said they were going to do a maintence check also... don't know what that involved, I didn't bother asking because I don't have a tune yet. So I'm guessing each dealership is a little different.

Seeing that this recall is based on theoretical observations and the fact I don’t allow gum chewing, mewling, cookie munching children [:'(]in my car let alone not strapped down, this recall for me will be ignored. [:-]

Yes the RCM. I had it done yesterday. Took 1/2 hour for them to get my car into the shop and only took them 15-20 mins to do that actual work.

That's it... One more airbag recall thread and I think I'm going to slit my wrists.

I was thinking the same thing , then was informed that if you receive the letter and do nothing about it and something happens and the Air Bag Malfunctions, Ford is no longer Liable. And basically your SOL if you want to take legal action. Also according to a lawyer friend of mine, you could be held liable for not getting it fixed.
