jegs isn't sure my ear end is an 8.8.......what the hell is it, if not?
i am trying to order a 3:73 and that it was they are telling me....how can i tell if the gear is a motive?

The GT has an 8.8 rear end. The motive gears part number will end in an M. The ford racing ones you want end in an A I believe.

 

I ordered my 4.10'sfrom Jegsand they were Ford Racing and ended with an A. And yes you have a 8.8 rear.

I believe ford racing 3.73's will end in N. the A & M endings sould refer to 4.10's A being the good ones. I have the N 3.73's and they are dead quiet. At first they were installed sopoorly the shop wouldn't take any money for the job, then I did it myself and got it right. If you want something done right do it yourself.

 

+1 on the FRPP 3.73's ending with "N"......I have them as well, they are silent.....but you'll know they are there when you hit the loud pedal.

there is no way those are the the FRPP gears.....they have to be motive....thats like 80 less than anywhere else has the FRPP gears ending in A or N

 

I heard anyone wanting FRPP gears needs to buy them now as they are NOT going to make them anymore!? Anyone else heard that? Or was it a rumor...I know some of the advertisers dont offer them anymore which might mean that once the stock is gone the gears are gone and getting the Motives in right the first time without whine seems to be a problem for many (even after the friction modifier)....JMO J
