Anyone have any clue as to what this code means - T0 340 cam pos - cs cir er 1s1 - my sct read this after i scanned because of a check engine light -

 

Isn't that a variable inlet timing issue?

 

P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor circuit fault.

Does the car run ok?

Istill seem to remember somebody else having reported this code, it wassomething to do with the VCT Variable Camshaft Timing

 

If it has to do with Cam Position it can't be an error code that you want (are there any you do want? lol). But seriously, might want to have it checked out.

 

There's a sensor on the front of each head that detects cam position.(pg 303-14-5 workshop manual). There's also a Variable Camshaft Timing Oil Control Solenoid which regulates the oil pressure to the camshaft. Make sure these are plugged in and the wiring harnesses are intact. Beyond that, we have a warranty. Good luck.

 

wow sounds like a serious issue - - its running fine - same as usual - im thinkin if i should take to the dealer - i have an appointment with my dyno shop next week - thanks for the feedback -
