RE: Need help on pricing my car
I'm in the same boat as you, WP I have an '06 w/ 16k, looks like if I sell , I'm gonna take a nice hit!! (bought it for 27k)
KBB is way over the real world it seems. I got a value last year on a trade in, the dealer said 16k !!!!! ouch...

RE: Need help on pricing my car
In February I bought a used 06 GT premium w/4500 miles for $21750. Had 17x9 black bullits but stock otherwise. Oh some tint also.
Shortly after I got the car I started seeing stories pop up about people getting into brand new 08 GTs for $24000.
Yah. I got ripped off. Should've been more patient.

Yep with the prices the dealerships are asking it is hard to get what you deserve for your car. PLUS interest rates are chieaper on the brand new ones. I wish you luck on selling it though. That is a great color. If you REALLY have to sell it, I would start it out at 22500

It's a gt deluxe with stick so it's basically the base GT
First, look at the sticker of a base GT deluxe today and subtract $2000 which gets you right around invoice price as most cars are selling around invoice in this depressed market.
then, go to search inventory at the ford site and punch in your zip code and select a gt. When the window on the left pop ups it shows the rebate. In some areas, it's as high as $3500 rebate. That is for 08s. So,if the base GT is around $27k and you can get upwards of $5500 off, that brings it to $21,500 for a new 08. Since yours is used, you deduct for that. If you see $20,000 you'll be doing good. Don't make the ad as $22k or BRO as that puts your asking price in the brand new neighborhood. There is nothing wrong with asking $20k and saying no to low ball offers.
good luck. It's a tough time to be selling anything. heck, I just negotiated $2000 off braces for my 2 kids so even the orthodontists realize it's a tough market. One ortho held to his high price but 2 others went low. it's that way with cars too and buyers know it's a buyers market.
I know this is a mustang forum but that's part of the beauty of honda and toyota. They very very rarely ever offer rebates and huge discounts thus resale prices are better for sellers.
