Move to Reno, NV. I live at about 5,300 ft above sea level. It was a fairly nice day today.......close to 50 degrees. Right now, 8:53 pm, it's freezing a$$ cold, crazy wind (gusts around45-60 mph easily), and it's trying to snow again.[:'(][:@]So much for breaking in the new suspension.

Something us Floridians ever hardly have. I know the heat and humidity in the summer time just has to sap power away.

BTW you know a cold day adds HP

No, I think that's a good point. The difference between my FI 91 & 93 tunes equates to 20rwhp difference. Even thoughI've seen the numbers on the dyno to prove that, my SOP-meter cannot tell the difference during spirited street use.

skip the big mac one time a week and it will offset the difference in the price of the gas.
I also use the excuse to drive to Indiana where gas is 10-20 cents cheaper, making up the difference in the price here in Illinois, lol. Good reason for a cruise. (plus Im out that way a lot anyway, I live near the border)

20 HP difference between 91 and 93 tunes????
I am running the Evolution 91 tune. I was considering the 93 tune so asked Fred what difference it would make in HP. His answer, "they are pretty much the same tune".

93 will get you better gas mileage and more butt dyno power where as the 87 tune will be cheaper to purchase gas with however you will be cheated on gas mileage which you will not make the difference to warrant buying the "El cheapo."

This is from an old test but I think it may help clarify octane vs ignition timing in a normally apirated vehicle.
Basic Ignition Timing
Vehicle Retarded 5 degrees Standard Advanced 5 degrees
A 88 91 93
B 86 90.5 94.5
C 85.5 88 90
D 84 87.5 91
E 82.5 87 90

I asked a Brenspeed tech when I bought mine about that. He said I'd feel a bigger difference between the stock 87 and custom 87 tunes than that between the custom 87 and 93 tunes. My SOTP tells me he's right.
I run the 89 tune most of the time and have played with the 93. I like the feel of the 89 for all-around driving. The 93 tune seems like it pulls harder in the upper RPM ranges but a tad "doggier" in the low band.
