CMDP are certainly a bolt on..........its like an hour install

TB should be on that list also, throw driveshaft in there too if you want....it gives some dcent HP IMO

Cams and heads on true bolt ons, but if you want everything you can out of a N/A car, then these are about all thats left!

Bolt on power adders was a term that used by the ricers back in the 80's when turbo and superchargers became very popular as bolt on horsepower. You didn't have to have any knowledge of how an engine creates power you just had to know how to read directions.

I've heard lots of FI cars in magazines referred to as "bolt-on". I think that N/A and non-N/A are more appropriate terms.

Personally I think of "bolt-on" as anything that doesn't go into the engine and that includes removing the intake, cams, heads, etc.

Mais il est fou! Retenez-le!

I always thought bolt ons were without going inside the motor...
A functional scoop would be a bolt on.

I see bolt-ons as one day add-ons that someone can do in their driveway

and don't have to dig into it very deep

What about headers, electric waterpumps, Coil over plugs? I would put cams in the internals section of mods

gears, exhaust, cai, tune, electric water pump, under drive pullies, upgraded coil packs, and I would personally consider cams as a bolt-on. back in the day when I had my 5.0 cams and heads were pretty much considered the norm as far as "bolt-ons" go. stroking your motor out and adding a blower, turbo, or even nitrous in my opinion are NOT bolt-on's. they'd all be classified in the "power adder" catergory.
