FULL EXHAUST HP INCREASE???
Ok, I am having a little argument in another section about the horsepower gains with a full exhaust (LT's, mid pipes, no cats, mufflers). He is saying you would pick up 30 to 40 hp, I am thinking that is probably a little high. Also, are there any horsepower gains in just mufflers (slp, boomtubes, etc)? I am thinking no but I could be wrong. By the way the car is a S197 GT.
Thanks
Thanks
You can prob. pick up about 30-35 if you do longtubes, x-pipe no cats, and some kind of straight thru muffler and also a good tune. Remember the tune is everything. You pick up no hp from axle backs and if you do its no more then 2-3hp

cost of headers varies a great deal so i cant really give you any good answer there......but project quick is right.
CAI/Tune~25hp
lts/midpipe/cai/tune~40
for N/A car you probably wont get more than 15 from the headers and midpipe if you already have a CAI and tune
People are comparing 2 different cars in that thread. The S197 is nothing like any other beast before, the same rules just dont apply really....our stock exhaust is much better than ever before, so getting tons of gains from it just doesnt happen
The best bang for your buck is CAI/tune.......end thread
