One downside I've had a couple of times, moving along following GPS directions to the destination, and all of a sudden the road becomes a DIRT road. Glad I was only doing 63 MPH when that came up on my horizon! Rapid slow down and turn around and back track. I don't like to do DIRT in or on my rides.

RE: need help deciding on a gt
there's alot of reasons people buy V6s over GTs. the price is one of them. most people can't afford the asking price that GTs are asking for. another is the insurance rates that GTs command. I have a V6 and would LOVE to own a GT, but this being my first Stang I am perfectly happy with it. Personally, I don't care for used cars.

Ah, the small ***** syndrome of this forum never fails.
Do what you like, and in my opinion, if you already did mods to your v6, SC it and call it a day. Save up for a better car in the future.

If a GT is only going to cost him an additional $3,000. How will getting himself an SC save him money? The insurance isn't that much more....
Just checking.

How's he going to get a GT for $3,000? He's not gonna get $16,000 for his, and he's not getting a GT for $19,000. More likely, he get $14,000 in trade, and a GT costs him $25,000. If he buys a used GT, he has somebody elses car who may have beat the crap out of it. I supercharged mine becuase the cost to move to a GT with very few miles or new, was about $8,000 MIN, and more likely $10,000. I put a SC on for $4000, GT takeoff bumpers, dual exhaust, GT sways, GT brakes for total cost of about $5,500. So, I am AT LEAST $2,500 cheaper than going GT, and more likely $4,500 cheaper, and my car is probably faster than a GT, and has more low end torque than a GT, and I had a lot of fun doing it. The $2,500 to $4,500 I am ahead will grow to $4,000 to $6,000 in 3 years and be a great down payment for a new 2010 redesigned Mustang, and I'll keep my current Mustang.
And figure in all the costs. If you get a stock GT, and youare comparing this to SC'ing your current car, you will have to get a CAI and tune for the GT to wake it up, andthat's $500 more. And if you have any mods, you'll want to redo many of them, figure that cost back in.
