Default I Have the New Heads! (4/07 Build Date)

I though only the 2008's got the new heads! I was so dreading removing the shielded plugs.
But after seeing a post from Mike Schropp at Livernois on another site stating that some late 2007's got the new heads I did a little looking. He stated the new heads have fewer vavle cover bolts (didnt state how many).

If Im not mistaken the 2005-2007 heads have 14 bolt valve covers. My 4/07 builddate car has10 bolt valve covers which I believe signifies the 2007.5+ heads with the fully threaded plugs.

If someone can confirm that 2008's have 10 bolt valve covers and 2005/2006 have 14 bolt valve covers I would appreciate it.

Just do one. Take your time. You have low mileage - you'll be fine. We all wanna see this plug.

It's not going to break. I didn't even give it a second thought when pulling my plugs at 12k miles. If you have less miles than that and the plug breaks, I'll buy you a new plug. You think brenspeed or jdm are breaking plugs right and left when installing superchargers? No they aren't.

I dont have my tools with me. Here is a photo I found and I know its small.
I tried blowing it up but the quality went to crap...
The threads are now down where the shield used to be.

The bottom is the plug for the old head and the top is the plug for the new head.

I just learned the 10 bolt covers willfit on the 14 bolt heads so some 2007's have the new covers but the old heads.....

I guess I will pull the plugs this weekend with a Torque Wrench and Carb Cleaner per Ford instructions and see how bad their getting.
