Default Tint

I went to the local tint guy yesterday to get a price quote, He said the word is getting out that the new mustang isn't using felt on the door windows, and that people are complainint about scratching of the tint. He said he would only do the back window and the two small ones, but not the doors... for $140 He said he could do the side windows, but wouldn't warranty them
Is anyone having their tint scratched? or should I just move on to the next guy?

I had the tinting done here in San Diego last Saturday. I have not used the windows much as far as up and down goes, but have used them. No problems so far. As for the felt, I can't tell you exactly what they use in the window wells, but they seem pretty fuzzy and soft to me when I put my finger down in there. FWIW.

I just checked mine again, the outside one is fuzzy, but the inside one (against where the tint would be) is not

The guy I went to is using this new stuff out there, which comes with a warranty for 3 years. He said that if anything happens, including him going out of business, that they would replace the tint. He gave me the receipt, the phone number, etc., so I feel pretty good about the product irrespective of the window linings.

I can get you the information this evening when I get home if you would like.

I will send the info on the tint and also need the gas tank TSB. Casper originally sent out the TSB, so I would ask him or look through that thread. If you do get it, or I, we'll send it to the other. OK?

No problemo. See, my Spanish is so good now that I have lived in San Diego for 5 years.

Basically, we are all here to enjoy our rides and help out when we can. What comes around, goes around.

Mine has the fuzzy stuff on both inside and ouside edges of the weatherstripping around the window (in the door). Is it a problem on certain models I wonder?
