Dash lights question
This is probably a dumb question but that never stopped me in the past.
I noticed this happen twice. If I shut down the car, then turn off the headlights, and lock up the car, when I get back in I've noticed thedash board/gauge lights are oneven though I have the headlight switch off. When I start the car they go to white. I don't know if they were on before I opened the door of if they came on like the dome lights do when you open the door.
Is this normal? Is there a sequence you should follow to shutting off the lights? I'm a little worried they dash lights are staying on and will drain the battery.

RE: Dash lights question
If you're unlocking the car with the key fob, your headlights are probably on (courtesy lights). If your headlights are on,
then your dash lights will be "on". Sit in the car a second, the headlights will go off and your dash lights will go off.
When you start the car, the dash lights are normally backlit white, and the headlights are turning off.
Mine does the same thing.

RE: Dash lights question
Thanks for the information, that's exactly what is happening. I guess I never noticed the headlights coming on when I unlocked the car with the key fob. The dash lights do go off when you start the car or if you wait 10-15 seconds.
I feel like one of those nervous parents who freak out ever time the baby burps, coughs or spits up. Although I wasn't this nervous when we really had my 3 kids. I've also never owned a Ford before so I'm not familiar with how their system work.
